Hello crunchy friends! I am sharing this story with you because it hits close to home as we have four rescued animals in our family. They bring so much joy into our family! These animals are not the problem but they do need us to find a solution. So…I asked my friend, Kayla from Dream Big Bark Loudly, to give us some insight.
Summer is generally a much-anticipated season, especially in a college town like Tallahassee. Sure, the weather is hot and humid, but for students there is a sense of freedom, and for the rest of us, less traffic. Unfortunately, summer is not quite so exciting for the staff and volunteers at the Tallahassee Animal Services Center (the municipal animal shelter).
June Meal Plan + Summer Cooking Tips
Welcome to the June Meal Plan! This month, I’ll be sharing some smart Summer cooking tips to help you have an enjoyable month of meals.
During the Summer season, we love to be outside in the beautiful weather relaxing and having a great time as a family. That is only possible if I meal plan because, without a plan, we come inside and I am left scrambling to throw dinner together. This post includes Summer cooking tips and a June Meal Plan with recipes that are ready in 30 minutes or less. Enjoy!
Check out this super simple, toddler-friendly 30 second smoothie! The recipe uses just five ingredients (that you probably have at home) and a blender. Easy peasy and ready in just 30 seconds!
May Meal Plan
Welcome to the May Meal Plan! In case you are new to Call Me Crunchy, I will catch you up real quick. We are a family of seven but four of those are fur babies. I enjoy good food, live music, craft beer and spending time with the people I love. In order to spend less time cooking, I plan my meals ahead of time. As a result, I have more time to do the things that bring me joy!
I used to become flustered with getting a homemade meal on the table each night. Then, I found Wildtree and things got a lot easier! At first, I started planning dinner a week ahead of time. We were eating at home but I dreaded having to plan each Sunday. Eventually, I realized that a monthly meal plan could be my best friend. It was tough when I first starting creating them but, through practice, I have come to love making monthly meal plans. It saves me time, money and sanity which makes this mommy very happy.

Foster Love Fundraiser
As an Independent Representative for Wildtree, I am able to give back to my community in many ways. In addition to helping others simplify dinnertime, I give a portion of my Wildtree earnings to local nonprofits here in Tallahassee. It’s such a great feeling knowing that my job is making a positive impact in so many lives just by sharing the mission of Wildtree.
Recently, we took the first steps towards becoming foster parents. We are excited to provide a safe, loving home for children in need so I wanted to do more than just donate this month. Therefore, the Foster Love Fundraiser was born! Together, we can change lives!
My family is in the process of phasing out all disposable products from our house. One of the last things we had left was paper towels. We usually keep a kitchen towel hanging from our cabinet by the sink, but we still went through a roll or two a week. Not only is that a lot of waste but it was costly! I was looking for an alternative and came across Marley’s Monsters. These special unpaper towels are mama-made in Eugene, Oregon and are the most beautiful towels you will ever see and are super soft! Win win win!
I love learning new recipes, especially if it means trying food inspired by other countries. I also happen to be a Wildtree Rep so I put together 15 recipes to help you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day the Wildtree Way. I try to focus on making meals in 30 minutes or less so all of these recipes are quite simple to make and do not call for a large list of ingredients. Yippee!
Bummis Potty Pant Giveaway

AWARE: having or showing realization, perception or knowledge
The past week has made me think and reflect; to become AWARE. I was sitting in my MOPS meeting listening to a presentation about self defense. I had no idea what this talk would trigger. There were certain points mentioned that struck me, not in a bad way, but opened my mind to think outside of the box. What are we not aware of?
This particular discussion made me realize there are many aspects of life that we may not think about on a daily basis. We get so busy in the daily grind and overlook important things. I feel aware but I know I need to be more diligent about observing, thinking, reflecting and learning.
